Exeter Legal Walk

The walk helps raise awareness and funds for much-needed free legal aid centres. The need for these measures has increased in recent years as the recession has increased poverty and reduced support services. In the meantime, funding for the counselling centres themselves has been cut. These services are essential to ensure that everyone has access to the law. With a big thank you to our wonderful walkers, we are delighted to announce that our 2021 Regional Legal Walks have raised over £105,000 for free local legal services! There is plenty of free parking at the Coaver Club, which is a short walk from the start Emily Botham, Samantha Booth, Georgina Moss, Laura Coombs and Georgia Day participated in the 10km walk through the city of Exeter. The march brought together the local legal community to raise funds for those who need access to justice and legal services in the city. The Covid-19 pandemic has led to an increase in the need for free legal aid centres to meet ever-growing needs The South West Legal Support Trust has organised legal marches across the region to raise funds that: Employees of the national law firm Foot Anstey LLP in Exeter participated in the South West Legal Support Trust`s Exeter Legal March, to support free legal advice in the region. The current crisis has put immense pressure on legal services across the UK, facing unprecedented demand from people desperately in need of free or affordable advice. These services are at breaking point and need our help now more than ever. We hope you will join us next year to raise funds and awareness to facilitate access to justice services across the country. 350 organizations in 23 cities; (from Exeter to Edinburgh!) Participated in fundraising walks to raise much-needed funds for local charities that provide free legal advice. All legal walks participated in accordance with local government guidelines to ensure the safety of our hikers and allow them to have fun and collect sponsorships for their efforts.
