Earlier, on 8 February, Justice Commissioner Atan Mustaffa granted 1MDB`s ex parte request to impose a Mareva injunction on Najib. As a result of the freeze order, Najib`s assets of up to $681 million cannot be sold or liquidated until the case is decided. It must also disclose up to $681 million in assets within 14 days of the order. Two days after the Facebook post, Najib managed, through his lawyers and with the consent of 1MDB`s lawyers, to obtain a stay of the trial hearing until the conclusion of his ongoing 1MDB criminal case.
