Through the MCVLP, area attorneys provide free legal assistance to low-income Madison County citizens in certain civil cases. The Madison County Volunteer Lawyers Program was organized in 1982 and is the oldest pro bono program in Alabama. Each year, the MCVLP provides access to the civil justice system to underrepresented citizens of Madison County by referring them to dedicated and competent lawyers. Lawyers` fees are negotiated between you and the lawyer referred to you. Only initial consulting fees are administered by the Alabama State Bar. All other fees are at the discretion of the lawyer.
